Hey! I'm Zoey (he/him) from Oakland, CA. I'm a 4th-year in the house and have really enjoyed living here - everyone's great, and I get to have the most random, fun conversations all the time (plus free food!). Outside of school, I'm big on crosswords, racket and winter sports, and bullet chess, and I'm hoping to get into climbing and skateboarding. But my go-to is to get coffee/boba with friends and just have a good time...or watch reality TV :)

I grew up in Grand Rapids, MI and am in my michigan country phase. I love to fish and am coming to U of M after working on a dairy farm. Nevertheless, I still have the voice of a small child and the strength of four toothpicks glued together. I also play bass guitar, work with fibercrafts, and blend teas.

  • Abdul (he/him/his)

Hey there, I am Abdul. I am an anthro nerd and filmmaker. I am BIG lover of using stories and experiences to think about the issues we often see in numbers. My schtick is: to know ourselves and the world better we have to expand whose perspectives and world views contribute to that story. I am first year Anthropology PhD student. I am intrested in issues of development and movment (migration and displacment). I have conducted research in refugee settlements in Uganda and among African communities in India. I am currently working as an audio producer for an audio archive-podcast called Narrating Nubia with Professor Amal Fadlalla and also self-directed freelance docu-series featuring different Ugandans. When I'm not glued to my favorite shows like Abbott Elementary or obsessively rewatching House of the Dragon with my fantastic housemates, you'll find reading, writing or editing. This year, I'm donning the hat of the Chair for the Project Development Committee and lending my skills to the Logistics Committee.

For fun, I’m into hiking, baking, reading, and recently making matcha.

I love going to concerts, buying records, writing the occasional verse, and dj-ing on WCBN-FM Ann Arbor on Fridays at 11! This is my second year as the House's Cornell Branch Liaison and I'm also serving on the Logistics Committee.

  • Jieun (she/her/hers)

Hi :) I'm Jieun from South Korea! I am a 5th year Ph.D. student in psychology, studying how mindfulness makes people and our planet happy! (Mindfulness means being fully in the present moment) Before, I was a material scientist at Samsung Electronics, developing solar energy since environmental sustainability was my primary interest. However, I wanted to find a more fundamental way of stopping massive environmental destruction than developing technology, so I quit Samsung and traveled the world for two years. This travel made me realize that changing our minds into a more mindful and compassionate way would be a solution to stop not only environmental destruction but also numerous social problems and even individual problems, so now I am studying the psychology of mindfulness.

I also worked as an activist in an environmental organization, Future Forest, which plants trees in deserts, and I designed a park where people could experience how we can live our daily lives sustainably in harmony with nature and others. After graduation, I plan to integrate mindfulness programs, environment, and health subjects into the school curriculums.

  • Sreya (she/her/hers)

I'm passionate about the intersection of these mediums, and believe in the immense power and value of the arts in our communities. I'm trained in classical Indian dance and yoga, but love learning more about other dance and theatre forms.

This is my second year at Telluride, and I'm on the Event Planning and Recruitment committees. House life can be really fulfilling, and I am so happy to be here for a second year.
