Hi, I’m Riley! I’ve been at MBTA since Fall 2023, and serve as the finance officer as well as greenhouse committee chair. I’m an undergraduate student double majoring in Mathematics and Afroamerican and African Studies. Currently my research is focused around the Fine Arc Graph and related graphs, and my Thesis work which is a history of Black mathematicians in America, looking for connections to African Epistemologies. I have a rabbit named Pebble, and I am a long-time fiber artist. Also I’ve got a buzz cut now, but haven’t got any nice photos yet.

Zuzanna (SHE/HER/HERS)
Hi, I'm Zuzanna! I'm in the MD-PhD Program at the Michigan Medical School, currently in my second year of the Ph.D. program in Philosophy. My philosophical research interests are in the realm of moral philosophy as it relates to the practice of medicine; questions about the ways we draw the boundaries of medical institutions and physicians' obligations intrigue me the most. In my free time, I enjoy running, cycling, skiing, whimsy, being outside in nature, and hanging out with my fellow housemates!

AK (he/him/his)
Hey there, I am AK. I am an anthro nerd and filmmaker. I am BIG lover of using stories and experiences to think about the issues we often see in numbers. My schtick is: to know ourselves and the world better we have to expand whose perspectives and world views contribute to that story. I’m currently a third-year PhD student in Anthropology, with a focus on development, migration, displacement and something to do with film. My research has taken me to refugee settlements in Uganda, and African communities in India. When I’m not reading or writing, I’m either binge-watching Abbott Elementary or rewatching House of the Dragon with my awesome housemates. This year, I’m serving on the Recruitment Committee and the Project Development Committee.

Sarah (she/her/hers)
Hello, I’m Sarah! I’m originally a transfer student from my local community college (community college for the win :) ), but I’ve been having a great time at umich! I am majoring in history with a museum studies minor and am leaning towards adding another minor. This is my second year being at the Telluride House, and it has been so wonderful being a part of this community! I am currently serving as the Employee Coordinator this semester. I love going to concerts, traveling, and good vibes! I’m always down for a fun time and trying new things. If anyone needs a concert buddy (preferably a Billie Eilish one), I’m almost always available. :)

Schnadè (he/him/his)
I'm Schnadè, and I'm in my third year of university. Usually, you can find me talking about theatre performance and linguistics. I love learning about how language evolves and how it captures the cultures we represent. Since middle school, I have wanted to be an actor, and as I got more deep into it, the power of words only strengthened for me. I became more aware of how my voice is the result of the many cultures that have influenced me: Haitian, South Floridian, etc. Funny enough, I went to a middle school dedicated to technology, and then went to a high school for the arts to study theatre. However, here at the University of Michigan, in a cool mix of interdisciplinary, I am set on pursuing computational linguistics in order to complement my artistic and humanities studies. I'm super excited to take part in this next cohort of the Telluride House! Cheers to being part of a community of future change-makers. My hobbies include learning about history, fashion, and just having a good old laugh. Feel free to say if you see me in public!

As a new house member this year, I look forward to working together and making fun memories!

Born and raised in Syria, I’ve traveled to over 15 countries to explore different religions, spiritual and emotional practices, and stay with locals to see life through their eyes. I’m passionate about empowering people through mind, body, emotions, and soul. I thrive most in communities where we work together toward shared goals. In my free time, I love swimming, meditating, exploring self-help, being in nature, and traveling.

Hey y'all my name is Bibi and I'm a 2nd year MS student studying Environmental Justice from Austin, Tejas (hook 'em!). This is my second year at the house and my first time serving as LogComm Chair with a couple renovation projects underway. I am passionate about how land-holding and food interact with one another as sites of race-making. In my free time I enjoy going to the movies, calling my younger sister, playing pool, and long walks with a hot chai latte. Though a proud Tejana, I have loved my time in Michigan enjoying shawarma, Detroit's techno scene, and the beautiful Arb.

Hi! I am Kaia, a senior and excited to finish strong with a degree in media and communication studies. A few of my passions are photography, watching films, being a creative, finding new perspectives of the world, watching DJ sets, and collaging!
This year I am further exploring my passions of storytelling, making a positive impact & how to translate them across industries. If I am not outside in the sun, I'm most likely being a foodie! -

I’ve recently been obsessed with learning crochet and daily meditation. I’m happiest around kids, my family, and anything that smells amazing--so if you’ve got a favorite candle or body mist, please drop your recommendations. I’ll probably end up trying it.

Saima (She/Her/hers)
Hi, my name is Saima. I’m originally from India and did my undergraduate degree in Computer Science Engineering. I worked as a developer at IBM, but I was always involved in volunteering and working with underserved communities. During the COVID-19 pandemic, I made a full transition to the social sector. I lived and worked in a forest with an indigenous community, focusing on community-led development, and later collaborated with state and federal governments in India on social inclusion initiatives. Currently, I’m pursuing a dual master's in public policy and sustainability at the University of Michigan. This summer, I’ve been working on projects related to AI, water use, and environmental justice- particularly the impacts on vulnerable communities at the World Bank.
