The Application

The House member application to the Telluride House is available HERE. The application consists of two parts: A completed online application form and two letters of reference; at least one of which should be from a teacher/professor.

There is no model applicant. The House accepts members as much for their artistic portfolios and/or scientific research as it does for their personal and/or professional experiences.

Dates and Deadlines

The Telluride House reviews applications in two cycles: Fall and Winter. In both cycles, applicants apply for residence in the Telluride House starting Fall 2020.

Fall Cycle: Any application received in full before 12:00am EST on October 16, 2019* will be considered during our fall application cycle. Applicants who advance to the second round will interviewed in November 2019 and all applicants will receive the final result of their application in December 2019.

Winter Cycle: Any application received in full at or after 12:00am on October 16, 2019* but before 12:00am EST on February 12, 2020* will be considered during our fall application cycle. Applicants who advance to the second round will interviewed in March 2020 and all applicants will receive the final result of their application in April 2020.

*These dates are subject to slight changes that would be made in September 2019.

Terms of Scholarship & Eligibility

The Telluride House only will consider the applications of individuals who will be enrolled as full-time students at the University of Michigan in Fall 2020. Examples of applicant profiles satisfying this requirement include, but are not limited to: current University of Michigan students who will be full-time students in Fall 2020 and individuals who are not currently University of Michigan students but are applying for a University of Michigan program whose matriculation is in Fall 2020.

The Telluride House is a room and board scholarship for University of Michigan students interested in an intentional living community founded on the pillars of self-governance, intellectual inquiry, and community service.
