Year in School: PhD, 2nd year
Studying: English & Women's Studies
Joey is a PhD student in the joint program in English and Women's Studies. Originally from Alabama, he migrated to Michigan because he heard folk tales about schools that started after Labor Day and about a white, powdery substance that fell from the sky and stuck to the ground. Folks tale: confirmed.
Now that he's here for a few winters, he spends his time studying sexuality, gender, and race in early modern (16th & 17th century) English literature and culture. When's he not reading 17C medico-legal tracts, he enjoys running, playing the mandolin, acting, and working on the stand-up set he'll never perform.
