About Alexis:

My name is Alexis Farmer and this is my first year in the Telluride House. I was born and raised in Detroit, MI and I am passionate about revitalizing urban centers like Detroit through education and urban policy. I am a big city girl and I love to spend time outside talking walks, visiting sightseeing destinations, and enjoying the gems each city has to offer. I like to be active and involved, which is why I am involved in a number of organizations on campus, community service activities, and attend various events. I spent my first two years at Michigan in the Residential College, where I studied Spanish as a second language. I love listening to music, dancing, writing, reading, yoga, and traveling. I am a faithful Beyoncé fanatic. My favorite quote is from Ferris Buller’s Day Off, “Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.” This quote reminds me to simply enjoy each moment in life as it comes. One wouldn’t want to pass up the opportunity of making each moment unforgettable.
